My name is Blake Ellis and I am the proud Owner, Principal and GMD of Reubendrake. I first created the concept of Reubendrake back in 2014 after spending some 14+ years in corporate communications, business development and then as creative director of my very own branding & marketing agency.
I have always had a deep passion for real estate and it was my first preference when I completed high school, yet I found myself intrigued with communications & business development and landed some pretty successful roles with very large communications providers in senior BDM positions. I like to talk, so it was a great fit!
After several years building my skills in business development, negotiating and sales, I ventured into the path of my second love in life – branding & marketing. There is something truly rewarding about conceptualising, designing and launching something that you’ve created yourself, which can be admired by the many. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of marketing and spending so many years living and breathing it, has given me a real competitive edge now that I’ve finally made the leap into real estate and I’m now doing what I truly feel is my life work.
My family has owned many properties over my life time being both investment and family. I have seen my fair share of real estate agencies & agents make huge commissions from the sales and again make huge incomes from the property management fee’s we’ve been charged. Back in 2013, I started to ask family & friends a million questions about their properties & their agents etc and I was just in complete shock at what the ‘standard industry’ sees as acceptable!
